Once that you have booked your Cheap Air Tickets to India the following tips would be of use to you.
1. Join a group tour for the obvious safety and companionship it provides.
2. Hire a reputable local guide (check to see whether they are qualified with a relevant authority).
3. Observe local customs and dress codes so you blend in as much as possible.
4. Carry a sarong if travelling to religious countries.
5. Wearing a wedding ring and carrying photos of husband/kids can dissuade potential suitors.
6. If someone is buying you a drink, always go with him/her to the bar.
7. Carry a mobile phone and memorise the local emergency number.
8. Always take the hotel/hostel business card so you can find your way back.
9. Scan your passport, credit cards, air tickets, insurance and send to your hotmail/yahoo account.
10. Stay in contact. Let people back home know where you are and what your plans entail.
11. It's a good idea, particularly for women, to carry toilet paper, soap, lip balm, tampons, pocketknife and eye drops in your handbag or backpack.
